Elise Freeman is a writer and producer for film and VR.
After founding Storyboard Productions, she spent the past ten+ years guiding artists' visions on both large and small-scale productions across America and Europe. Elise has helped raise and produce films and games distributed by Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Oculus/Meta, Steam, and Viveport. Elise's XR projects have been honored with an Oculus Launch Pad fellowship, the 2020 Vive Wave Developer award for best application, an Epic MegaGrant, and a Grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
Elise’s most recent film Young Hearts was executive produced by the Emmy awarding-winning Mark and Jay Duplass with Duplass Brothers Productions. Young Hearts was a 2020 official selection at Slamdance and Seattle International Film Festival. The film was recently acquired at Cannes by Blue Fox Entertainment and after a limited theatrical release landed on HBO.
She is also a master in modern research analysis used in exploring generational change over time. Trained by the pioneer of the statistical method of cross-temporal meta-analysis, her work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Computers in Human Behavior and featured in The New York Times, USA Today, Psychology Today and more. She is currently a Co-Principal Investigator on a U.S. Department of Education Grant to examine the effects of XR on students with an aim to increase female and minority participation in CS and STEM. Elise recently gave a talk for the US Department of Education on the state of XR in education and works in XR to produce positive, impactful content.
Aside from all this she is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she plays viola, guitar, surfs, and travels and occasionally squeezes in a video game.
